The Company
Silvertip Security Ltd., based in Powell River, is fully licensed under The Private Investigators and Security Agencies Act to serve clients throughout the provice of British Columbia.
The company was formed in 1991 as a partnership between Terry Courte and Brian Baldwin, both born and raised in Powell River and former members of the RCMP. In November 1999, Terry Courte became sole owner of Silvertip Security Ltd.
The company and all of its employees are bonded. Silvertip Security Ltd. carries a minimum $2 million liability insurance policy.
Through work in the community over the years, Silvertip Security has developed excellent contacts and working relationships with police, fire, and other emergency service providers in Powell RIver.
A local company that employs Powell River residents, Silvertip purchases uniforms, equipment, office supplies, and business services from Powell River enterprises, rents local office space, and regularily donates to Powell River charities and fund raisers.
The Silvertip Security office is located in the Town Centre Mall, 7100 Alberni Street, Powell River.

& Training
Silvertip recruits, hires, and trains people to:
- be alert to potential trouble
- react quickly to emergency situations
- immediately contact the appropriate authorities
- communicate the situation calmly and clearly
- prepare
detailed incident reports that will stand up in court or at a formal
inquiry and complete all records and documents required by any specific
contract.
Silvertip's dedicated and experienced staff are committed to provide the best possible service. All of our security personnel have completed BST1 and BST2, security courses required by the provincial department of the Attourney-General. The company trains its staff in formal sessions to keep them up to date on the law and the criminal code authorities related to security patrols. It also provides extensive on-site training, spearheaded by the owner, and contracts for training sessions with a current member of the RCMP.
For Private Investigations, Silvertip calls on the skill and experience of its owner, who specializes in surveillance and video and audio taping techniques.
The company works in close liason with local police.
